Obscene the Premiership salaries If they played for less and the money channeled funds down to the struggling clubs it would make sense. Notice the empty spaces appearing at Chelsea and other Premiership Grounds, Bubble will burst shortly.
RE: They generate the money so who should get it? Must admit its 'Market Forces' that dictate the wages but the largest part of their wages are paid by all fans, even you and me although we do not support a 'Premiership' side. It comes for the vast sums of television money that we subscribe to watch on TV. Whelan at Wigan is trying to get the FA to limit wages to a maximum.
He can try all he wants, people shell out the readies its because they want to "see the best"</p> Its why no one watched the championship and the ONDigital TV deal went tits up.</p> Whilst the TV companies pay out what they do the wages will keep going up and up.</p>
It's good for the economy The majority of them sqaunder it all - so it probably finishes up in our pockets anyway.
Good For Them Premiership Football Players Earning So Much Might be too much, but you can't fault them for having it.
RE: Good For Them Premiership Football Players Earning So Much Can and will.</p> Ruined t' game it has.</p>
I refuse to subscribe to Sky... ...so my money isn't going to the gits. If nobody subscribed to Sky, they wouldn't be able to buy up the rights, football would be back on freeview terrestial telly, the top teams wouldn't get so much money, the wages wouldn't be so ridiculous and folk would be less inclined to say football is being killed by money. So I'm afraid you Sky subscribers aren't football fans. You're all to blame. Shame on you. Great logic eh?
I don't know where people find the time to watch it all! I take in the odd game down at the pub, but that's about it. A subscription for me would be a waste of money really, so on that basis I don't bother.
