According to the BBC, sorry no link im on my phone. In another report, Sheffield United have the cheapest average match day experience, just ahead of Huddersfield and that Albion are the only league club in Britain to offer prices under a tenner for adults.
Matchday ticket prices are cheaper at Derby, Huddersfield, Blackburn, Leicester, Forest, Wigan, Birmingham, Middlesbrough, Bournemouth, Charlton, Leeds, QPR, Doncaster, and Yeovil than they are at Barnsley. That makes sense considering how full our ground is every week and how we can afford to price the unneeded extra fans out of the game
Let's hope that trend continues. I think football clubs are starting to realise that they can't just milk their fans and they need to look for revenue streams in other areas. I believe we should employ a marketing manager with experience in German football, even if it's only on a consultancy basis. The reason ticket prices are so low in Germany is that they bring in so much money from the corporate and sponsorship side of things. We need to fully realise how to do that. I wish we'd gone for a flat rate of £20 at Barnsley, but at least £23 is much better than the madness of the last few seasons when no one knew what they would be paying from one match to the next and the top end prices were enough to drive almost everyone away.
The survey isn't really that accurate - bet you can't buy a £10 ticket for the next Huddersfield home game. Some clubs have given their cheapest match day ticket as the tickets they have on promo/family days.
Not strictly true - variable prices, some matches are lower, many will be higher. It looks like there's only us and Watford with the same price for all matches.
The prices for pay on the door at Oakwell are outrageous given the demographic. It's like we are actively trying to discourage folks. Yes it's better than it was but still poor. It's relatively easy to get the cheap tickets at Bramhell and Hudderscum I believe with a bit of planning.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19842397 Interesting that our cheap tickets are relatively expensive whereas our expensive tickets are relatively cheap - if you get my meaning.
