I've noticed that I am having to restart my computer nearly everytime I update AVG 8.0. Never had to do this with previous versions.

Anyone else having the same problem?

No but it keeps freezing my machine

Seems a lot slower since it's been insatlled and I've recently upgraded the memory so it's not that.

Problem I'm having is update manager not automatically updating so I'm having to update manually from either my last downloaded files (Tools/update from directory)or from the main AVG site

Have you tried going to Tools/Advanced settings and altering the update settings? have you got it set to update as soon as connecting available?

I've found this to be tons better than AVG, avg tended to slow mine to a snails pace, give it a go, if its not suitable to your needs you could always uninstall it....
