Since loading up AVG 8 a couple of months ago, my PC is running slower, which I believe is a common failing, but.....
When it loaded up I think I was given an option for it to perform a daily scan, which I askedto be done at 12 noon.
If the PC is not switched on at that time, I get pop ups every boot up to say that the scheduled scan wasn't performed and a load of instructions telling me what to do if I want a scan doing, which I simply ignore.
When the PC is on and the scan kicks in, I get a message saying the scan has been started. After about 1 minute it tells me the scan is complete and there are no threats, no spyware etc!
Now, if I ask AVG to do a scan from the main menu it takes bloody ages, over an hour. So how can this scheduled scan do it all in a minute? What I'm saying is, is the daily scan sufficient, or should I still be running a manual scan AND a spybot check?

I update mine manually when it tells me the update as failed, then do a full scan started manually once a week on a Monday seems to work ok.
And mine. Can't say I'm overly impressed with version 8 I seem to have more hiccups with it, the scan takes forever and it has slowed my PC down.
