AVG Anti virus

    I am trying to install the above programme but its not letting me,i get so far and then i get this message Error: Action failed for file avg7dos.lng: creating file....
    Changing language to 67698688 failed.
    General failure.
    Can anybody help

    Are you installing it from a user account with admin permission?
    and are you following the defaults?

    It should just work - I've installed it on a couple of PC's with not problems, it just worked

    No luck i have the following message now

    Error: Service Avg7RsW needs to be installed, but it has been marked by the Windows as delete pending during previous unintallation process. Please restart the computer to finnish pending service deletion.

    Do what it says

    Restart your computer

    once you have done that go to control panel add/remove programs and check that it has gone. if not delete it from there.

    Then do a restart, check you have admin privilidges and try again

    Make sure you have the proper version. AVG free from the link above. There are some bogus versions about. It will intall on XP no problem, I've installed it countless times.
