Just looking at one of their forums and it seems away fans are going to be moved to a block on one of the side stands as opposed to having the end behind the goal from next season. Brighton have done it so they can give more tickets to home fans (waiting lists for tickets apparently) and also to have home fans behind both goals (think this was Leeds thinking as well when relocating away fans?). Could we not use the other half of the West Stand for small away followings at Oakwell? When teams like Reading, Millwall etc... bring 300 away supporters to fixtures do they need a 6,000 seater stand? Surely it would save on stewarding/running costs and we then have the option for biggers away followings to go in the North. Thoughts?
I'll bet my b0locks someone namely Horse and fart or thereev(the same person) post something saying it won't affect us because we are going down and won't be playing them next season.
I have often wondered why we havent done this - unless its to save stewarding costs as we dont currently open half the west stand trouble is though 8000 home fans are thinly enough spread in the current 2 1/2 stands used if we give ourselves an extra stand the atmosphere will probably be even worse
wrong, leeds didn't do it to have home fans behind both goals, they did it for the sole purpose of extracting as much money as possible from away fans. by moving them into the main stand, they were then able to charge away fans top dollar.
yeah i wonder if there fans went mental for trying to get as much from away fans a possible like ours did
