Coming to the game tomorrow, hoping you can tell me the best place for away fans to drink? Town Centre or near the ground. Is the ground far from the train station/town centre? What kind of attendance are you expecting? Thanks in advance
ground ten mins from station, you should be ok drinking in town tomorrow .weatherspoons or no7 should be ok
Providing you're not as idiotic as the Preston fans were, you'd be welcome in the Old No.7 on Market Hill. Real ale pub, great atmosphere, doesn't do food though, but you'll note that ever third bulding in Barnely town centre is either a chip shop or a Greggs, so you won't go hungry! You'll be alright in there with shirts on, again providing you don't act like ar5eholes like the Preston fans. We're planning on rolling a load of our ex-players out for the last 20 minutes. Players who played with Bobby during his years at Oakwell. Are Mansfield going to be doing the same?
Reckon you'll be welcome anywhere in town. Market Hill has several pubs on it, 15 minutes walk from the ground. Basically to get to the ground, walk towards the big blue chimney which is visible from any view which doesn't have a building in the way. Hope you have a good afternoon. Went down to get a beer, about 20 minutes in, bought one no problem. Steward started talking to us, asking how often we go away etc etc He then suddenly ran in saying don't serve these till half time, its against the law to drink during a game, is it? We can drink throughout the 90 mins at mansfield (good job as well with the standard of football ) He then said if you've got a F'in problem, theres the F'in gate... Got to half time, went to buy a beer... He then ran over saying I was barred from drinking... He then suddenly had the 14 or so people we'd come with surrounding him, to which he then changed the whole story... Got his boss over who seemed far from surprised when we pointed him out... Doesn't make you want to return to barnsley in a hurry
Yes they are often complete dicks or at least some of them are. You should complain to the club about them.
