Any near the ground? Will be making my way to the game on Boxing day, along with I reckon another 1000 Poolies, and know that the usual haunt of the Metrodome will be closed. Don't fancy much the bit of a dive we were in last season next to the station, so looking for a good, kid and away support friendly pub within walking distance of the ground. Any suggestions please.
Within walking distance? Problem is that the ground is ten mins walk out of the town centre. So as long as you don't mind that then most pubs in the centre should be ok. Hope you have a nice day (apart from the result of course).
you could try the mount fella, which is 5 minutes from the ground or the outpost which is a little further away on sheffeild road.
All the town centre pubs will be open ..... .... normally wouldn't advise away fans to try the town centre pubs (and most away fans avoid it because there has been bother in the past) because there are a few idiots about, but most of the real nutters are now banned from going within 2 miles of the centre on match days and I've never seen any bother towards away fans with kids. Most pubs let kids in these days, but if your wearing shirts it might prove a bit more difficult so would advise you to either not wear your colours or put your shirts on when you get near to the ground
The Dove. Sometimes some away fans in The Outpost too. Both on Sheffield Road, 5mins from train station and 2mins from Oakwell. There were some Darlo fans in Groggers too after The FA Cup match the other week. Aslong as you're not coming for trouble, I'm sure you can drink most pubs.
Gatehouse opposite side of station to the ground Won't accomodate many of you tho as its quite small. Real Ale and cheap good grub
RE: Gatehouse opposite side of station to the ground Thanks for that info lads, much appreciated. Lets hope for a good game come boxing day
One of the Darlington fans was pretty fit, but she was with 3 blokes. They just had a few drinks then left, infact at one stage they were sat right next to us, keeping themselves to themselves.
Just glad it was black and white, not blue and white. Should've invited them to play pool with us, so we could see her bending over, get a proper look at that arse.
Lasses in football shirts. Quality. Thumbs up frum me everytime.
http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/BreakingNewsDetail/0,,10309~756308,00.html
As seen here......
