I choose to travel to away games by trains as I can't stand the Hitler wannabes who tell me I can't drink my cans or smoke in the toilet on the bus. I've noticed recently that train travel (no matter how early I book) has gone up by stupid proportions - used to get London return for between £20-£30, now it's about £65-£70. Does anyone have any tips on getting this cheaper? I see on the National Express Trains website that you can go from Leeds to London for £20 return - but when??? Similar deals offered by GNER did actually seem to be available.
GET IN EARLY MATE....LOADS OF US GOT £10 RETURN TICKETS FOR SATURDAY.....DONNY TO KINGS CROSS.....CHECK NATIONAL EXPRESS WEB PAGE...WAS GNER WHEN WE BOOKED.
Break it down, Donny - Newark - Newark Peterborough - Peterborough London! Or get a Newark to London with an all zone railcard!
Break it down is probably going to be cheaper Barnsley Sheff - Sheff Derby - Derby Birmingham - Birmingham Cov Direct Barnsley to Coventry is £37.60
These "Hitler wannabees" - would those be the people asking you not to consume alcohol on the bus because of the law that states the bus could be turned back if people are consuming alcohol? So in having your cans you could be risking every one else on that bus not getting to the game!
