did i hear right on news lastnight that a load of ticketless fans stormed through barriers to try and get in. you would have thought they would have learned their lesson
Dunno heard them on this morning about The Greek rozzers closing the gates and fans with genuine tickets couldn't get in. Perpetual victims. Always someone elses fault.
Bent ref fitting that the most corrupt club from the most corrupt league in the world are allowed back into a tournament by the back door go on to win it with the help of a ref who for the last 15 minutes of the match showed all the signs of someone with a 'vested interest'. as much as I detest scousers, I suspect they were done over last night.
Whilst I'm not a Liverpool fan and never will be, I tend to cheer on the English teams. However, this year, it was more important that any team other than an Italian team won this champions league final. It actually makes me sick that a team that has been proved guilty of corruption can go on to win the highest honour the following season and a country that has been exposed as totally corrupt in terms of football can also win the world cup. Rest assured if those levels of corruption had been exposed in English football, UEFA and FIFA would have been very quick to intervene with additional sanctions. Should have been Liverpool all the way for me, just so some kind of justice was done.
Italian teams Should've been banned from European competition for 5 years.
Still, makes the scousers pain all the more intense. Take your silver linings where you find 'em.

RE: Bent ref Is that why Liverpool were awarded a goal that was offside then? And why he booked 3 Milan players for similar offences that Liverpool had been doing and it was ages before he booked a Liverpool player? Maybe that was all part of his plan to lull people into a false sense of security! They weren't "allowed back in by the back door" - a large points deduction took them out of the qualifying places, they appealed against the points deduction which was then reduced and the amount then didn't take them out of the qualifying places. Yes, perhaps they shouldn't have had the deduction overturned…then again I think the Champions League loses much of it's attraction and prestige when a team that hasn't won it's own national Championship for nearly 20 years can win it. If they must have 3 or 4 teams from one country (and I'd rather they didn't) in it perhaps look into a system whereby not only does a team have to finish in top 4 to qualify but they are then only allowed in the tournament if they have won their league in the last 5 or 6 seasons. If only 2 of the top 4 meet that criteria then you only get 2 teams in it, the rest is then made up from Champions from the "smaller" nations.
Offside? Not sure about that. I agree a very fussy referee and also a dive for the free kick goal. 3 subs in injury time, that should be 45 seconds added on for each substation. So altogether there should have been 5 mins and he blew 20 seconds before the allocated 3 where up. Had Mascherano stayed on I’d have backed Liverpool to win the game and the second goal wouldn’t have happened. Crouch should have played up front with Bellamy. After seeing Gerrard win every flick on I thick Crouch and Bellamy would have been ideal. Anyway unlucky but I had a feeling when all the media where making a fuss of 3 English teams in the semi’s that it could go wrong. Knew Man U wouldn’t make it due to Fergie having no tactical knowledge of the European game apart from attack, even with a weakened team.
Not so sure Fergie has anything to do with tactics these days generally accepted that its Carlos setting the team up, Sir Alex just brings the vino. hope Real Madrid win the Spanish title btw ;-)
RE: Not so sure Fergie has anything to do with tactics these days Booo Fascisto! Looking unlikely now but was hoping for Sevilla.
