Seeing as there has been interest as to why we "Thugs" do this allow me to explain.

    There are various rumours:

Sam Hamman didnt introduce it to us, more us to him.

Back in the late 80's I think a religious speech/meeting was held at Ninnian Park and the leader Ayotollah did it to his followers, we saw it on tv and copied.

    or

There was a concert in a near by small venue the day before a match, the day after The Ayotollah had died. The leader of that group saw all the followers on the TV in sorrow and copied them on stage. He was a Cardiff Fan and did it again amongst his mates the next day in the crowd and people from there copied him and its grown from there really.

Depending on which fan you talk to, depends on what they will tell you on the subject. I'm sorry I cant be more precise but I have only been supporting us for 17 years since moving back from Reading to Cardiff and wasnt around when it started.

I thought it was some kind of new obscene gesture

I'm not targetting you personally with this but your fans, in general, are arrogant mindless morons and everytime they did this 'Ayatollah' thing they looked right at us in the same way you would when rodding someone...I assumed it was some obcentity that hasn't quite reached us up here

All the best for the final

Thought the game was pretty even, but you got the goal, and they win games.

You mean YOU don't. Many questions have been asked as to why we do it. I answered the question thats all.

And in response to the fella above, no we are not copying fundamentalists, grow up.

    Thanks mate

Thought it was very even yesterday and our early goal may have spoiled the game as a spectacle tbh.

We've kept clean sheets in loads of games recently and after we scored we just sat back. You had loads of possession but not the cutting edge.

I'm still struggling to believe we're in the final of the FA Cup - and struggling to believe I made it to work :D

surely if they did it first and now you are doing it after seeing them you must be copying them?

went to Ninian Park (one "n" I believe) in Feb 2003 for the 1-1

never seen such a set of disgraceful people in all my life as a fan - and I am not talking about a small minority

the welsh - the underclass of Britain
