    yes ferenci is breaking the mould he actually gets worse the more games he plays- more interested in fouls than scoring- and mattis is getting better

    That's why I stopped going to friendlies

    Can't remember the last time I went to one I enjoyed, although I suspect it was about 20 years ago when I could still kid myself that they meant something.

    I agree that they mean verry little overall. However it is a tad worrying that with only one week to the big kick off we are getting turned over easily by a struggling league 2 side ?!

    In the past

    I've seen us beat York 6-0, Notts County 1-0 when they were in what's now the Premier League, lose 1-0 to Bolton & draw 0-0 with Hartlepool.

    All games had 2 things in common, 1 they were all friendlies & 2 they all had no bearing on the season whatsoever. Other than helping towards match fitness of course.

    I went to that York game, was very optimistic about the coming season.........we just avoided relegation (Machin took over at New Year).
    Similarly I believe we had a dreadful series of pre-season results in 1996/97 and look what happened that season!
