Is it just me or or has RNL looked quite lively when he's come on in the last two games? Not sure if he is worthy of a start but definitely deserves more time on the field that useless pair of Done and Etuhu.
Keith`s giving him a chance nar his backs against the wall, if he does alreet he`ll have developed the **** art of him.
Or he's started pulling his weight in training and done ok when he's come on to deserve another shot?
That's what Keef said in an interview. Hope the lad keeps it up he was beginning to look good towards the end of Robins reign
Someone suggested yesterday he'd been delivered some home truths courtesy of Keith Hill. I would suspect that's not too wide of the mark.
I don't remember ever being impressed by him to be fair. Remember his goal but always looked too slow and dis interested. Only saw him against Huddersfield but looked good.
I thought he did well against Blackpool last season and a couple of years ago against Doncaster and Millwall. If you don't watch the younger levels then you haven't seen anywhere near the talents of RNL. IMO he's the most talented player at the club. A lot more talented than Jacob Butterfield too.
Injuries are one thing, it's how you come back from them that makes a player. And it's in the head as much as the body. Keith Hill probably picked up a prospectus from Barnsley Tec and said 'is this what you would rathe be doing?' Like my Dad used to say about flash young boxers - 'Okay, but let's wait til he gets knocked down and see what he can do when he gets up.' How true is that?
All due respect mate, it means f.ck all. If you don't do it when given the chance (which I don't think he really has) then it's wasted. Remember Hill saying in January that he needed to work harder and start to actually look like he enjoyed playing football, he's always said he's got the talent and compared him to Tom Ince. Hopefully he starts showing it.
I think you might be right. It's in is head too and thats what they've been working on. but i'll say it again, hes 19 years old still. Butterfield was ina similar position at that stage.
Dunno. I never studied latin. It's my word of the day and I wanted to fit it in somewhere. Tomorrow's word is ante-jentacular.
No, Butterfield was raring to go at that age. RNL reminds me of a young player we had at Oakwell a few years back called Nathan Jarman. He was outstanding for the youth team and we had a Derek Fazackerley as coach who had been assistant to Keegan for England. He said Jarman strikes the ball better than any lad he had ever seen and there was only one player same age in the country as good as him. Do you know who that was? - Wayne Rooney. Jarman made a handful of appearances for the first team but could not transfer that youthful talent into competitive grown up football, it happens. We've seen great kids at Oakwell over the years, the current bunch has as much potential as any. It's make or break time for RNL.
