We need to go back to 442 or at least 433 if we're to have any chance of going up now. Our system is unsuited for the players we have.

The system wouldn’t be half as bad if players cut out the basic passing errors, and sometimes realised that a forward pass can be made.

They struggle to pass sideways or backwards what makes you think their forward passing would be any better

At least with the forward passing its trying to get the ball away from our own goal :D:D

Yep no passing around at back / get it forward and cuts out a lot of our errors that way

Don't think the formation is the major issue. It's the tactics and how they've been told to play.

352/343 was fine under Duff and Big Val etc. when they were being more aggressive and got it forward earlier and got balls into box early etc.

A lot of decent sides in the EFL use a 3 at the back set up, plus we don't really have the personnel to play a back 4 at the moment either. Would make us worse in the interim IMO rather than fixing the issues.

Whatever happens between now and the end of the season the priority in the summer should be to bring players in with decent pace because our play is too slow and predictable.

I don't think that's because of a lack of pace, it's a tactic employed by Neil Collins

Tactics aren’t the best but we rarely see any of our players leave the opposition for dead with pace especially out wide unlike Reading who had a couple of pacey wide men
