Oh look, we've signed another player. And yet, still, people aren't happy. GET BEHIND THEM! ALL OF THEM! It dosn't matter what players you have, you can have Ronaldo, Shevchenko, Del Piero in your team. But what separates the BEST teams from the likes of some of the Championship, League 1 etc is that they do the BASICS with ease. Sure, the technical wizadry helps - but when they get down to the basics, ie, passing to feet, control, finding space, communication, working hard - thats when they excel, thats when the TALENT that they have in excess really does kick in. Watching us in the first half against Scnuthorpe - we getting 'basically' outplayed. Scnuthorpe were working hard, passing well, finding space and doing the BASICS, just that. They had NO flashy players, they had NO wizards out there. They got the ball down, and as a team - worked hard. We didn't. Second half, we came out - and we just did the basics. Nothing fancy, nothing hard - just played basic football - and look at what happened. Take Reading as a prime example. They haven't got any flashy players - but as a team, they are a great team. They do the basics well and are a solid team. Add a couple of BRILLIANT players and who knows? Prime example of us doing the BASICS this season was against Wolves. We did it, and we were fantastic. But, saying that - you still have to put the ball in the net I just hope we can do it more often - like in the promotion season. UP THE REDS!!!
Put It This Way.......... if we are signing someone with no goals in 23, who can't get in at Blackpool, for 250k. Imagine how much his value will be come May if he scores between 5-10 goals for us.
