    They most certainly have not

My 13 yr old 'angel' is still in his bed, the lazy so and so.  I'm sure I wasn't like that at his age ;-)

Ah, Holgate. I'm year 9 now.

You'll still be there when the schools join up then won't you? I leave just in time I think.

    Maybe , but not sure

    We were first told it'd be 2010 ( when I'd be in Year 11 ) , but now we've been told it won't be until 2011 .

Kingstone and Holgate are joining up?

What? I was a Kingstoner, and there used to be at least a fight a week between the two schools. Many a happy time spent belting across the wastes of Kingstone playground because someone said they saw a Holgater at the entrance gates. Obviously I wasn't going to do any fighting, but watching a scrap was always good fun. They can't join up! Who will they fight now?

    It's a little confusing

that they are merging two big schools but making 500 less places available.

There's still the occasional fight now, but it's rare. Most of the schools are joining up. Glad I'm avoiding it all!

Quite a few schools are merging

to become Advanced Learning Centres (or something like that).

Thankfully I've not seen any trouble between Holgate and Kingstone but have been told that the "schools" do not mix well.

And it's the two big schools that aren't always too friendly.

I'm sure they'll realise it was a rubbish idea sometime.

    Probably after they've merged

and the new school has been trashed!
