REDS boss Andy Ritchie reflected on his squad's first day back at work following the summer break. Speaking exclusively to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk, Andy said: "I am very pleased with how our first day has gone. The lads have come back in fine spirits and their fitness levels are good. "We spent the morning doing tests and they came out of it well. A couple of them have some extra work to do but, on the whole, they are not in bad shape. "Paul Heckingbottom missed this afternoon's session with a tight hamstring and that is something we will have to look at before tomorrow. We think it is a problem with his back which is putting strain on his hamstring so Rick (Holden) is trying to loosen him up a little. "Everybody else has trained and we are really looking forward to getting on with it. We only have a short pre-season this year so the lads have to make sure that the work they do is quality".
