And the pundits were saying they hope a long ban is given to the player involved. That it was a disgusting tackle and that it is a disgrace. They really laid into the player for making the challenge.

Am I alone in the opinion that ok it may have been an awful challenge but it was accidental so lets give him a retrospective red like any other player in the world and move on?

I personally feel that a player who elbows another, throws a punch or deliberately kicks another player needs punishing and slating far harsher than someone who has fecked up and innocently made a (very) bad challenge.

Andy Cole slated him for what was a mistake, a bad challenge. This is the Andy Cole who I've just watched punching a fellow player and getting sent off for it.

Awful tackle and should've been sent off, has the lad done anything like that before? Doubt it. Is he a malicious player? No.

He'll probably get a ban from the FA anyway. What John Carver did was bang out of order, *****.

Cold and Yorke as pundits? Awful.
