We lose 5 - 1 (yes, five goals against one scored) nothing from the official board. Not a flicker. Nought. Ziltch. Sod all. Nil. Sweet fanny adams. This at a time when fans want to hear from the club.

Then a couple of days later GS or someone at the club releases a statement on the official site that AR is after two players in the Transfer Window (TW). Woo Hoo, great stuff, gets the fans looking forward to new players and the rest of the season. What happens? Not a flicker. Nought. Ziltch. Sod all. Nil. Sweet fanny adams.

When i was a kid I went fishing with me dad. He said to me "when you are looking at catching summert you have got to know when to strike and when not to strike".

Dunt nobody know owt abart fishing at Barnsley FC

Agree wholeheartedly

What a sack of *****.

How many players have we now declared an interest in (Chopra, Kazim Richards, Constantine et al) only not to ultimately get anywhere (or probably did not even really even try)

Now if these players were really seen as a good addition to our squad then we patently undervalued them.

If we did not really want them in the first place then why profess our interest?

If we could not afford them then why declare an interest in the first place?

Either way its a feckin pathetic PR job.

Well bleeding done.

The club is run by amateurs, and sadly this is now visible to all.

SHOCKING!!!!!!

The public relations at out club is poor at best. You shouldn't announce we are after people, especially after our last problems in the past. Christ yet more false hope given to the fans. We have leaked more goals then anyone in the league yet do we go for a defender ? Do we bloody hell. And Constantine is crap anyway and we need Shipperley for experience. You have to speculate to acumulate at the end of the day. Yes we don't expect to go Cardiff crazy (even if it is working for them) but we don't expect to be the way we are.

No wonder PC wanted to step back................the PR at Barnsley FC is actually turning people off

We are desperate for one maybe two centre halves and one maybe two forwards
In my opinion, not in an attempt to kick the current players out but to increase competition and cover for those positions

So failing to sign players in these positions is bad for the club and it is giving the impression that the directors are trying to 'do' the Championship cheaply and by doing so put the league position of the club in peril

If this int bad enough to make things much much worse they release news on the official site to get fans hopes up only to be constantly knocked down.
Do they not relise that if something is released on the official site then it becomes a talking point for people of Barnsley.
And then there's the problem of trying to find news and there's nothing there. When fans want information on the official site......it's not there

Now this shows me that the person who is running the PR for the club dosen't know how to promote a football club.
No wonder PC stood back. He knows that a Chairman of a football club gets stick no matter what happens.
But I for one would welcome a more proffesional showbiz approach that we saw with Ridsdale than what we have now.
If we could combine the slow steady approach with a bit of showbiz zip we may not be so annoyed with the club.

Why did we need to hear a statement from the club after we lost on saturday?! We lost a football match - nobody died , there wasn't a major scandal . we lost a match it happens in football.

I prefer everton and he talked boll*cks - we know it's not. I'd rather they went on the training pitch to do something about it rather than sit in front of a bunch of journos making excuses!

What happened was this

AR gave his thoughts after the match
But these were not put on the official site
Which under the circumstances of losing 5-1 anybody who has interest in the club would beleive it would happen
5-1 is a massive defeat
One that could undermine the players confidence
A result that causes more than disappointment from the fans
But nothing from the official site
