Ah well. We'll have a few more this season and we'll have some good ones, too. Calm the f.ck down you gret set of Wednesday wannabes. You don't build a squad in the space of one pre season. It doesn't happen. In fact, not even a pre season - weeks post O'Grady leaving. We've got a squad that everyone said they wanted in the Summer - young, hungry with our own academy lads thrown in to supplement it. Now it turns out we didn't want that at all - or we did if it meant we'd be top of the league. Have a word, lads. It's getting boring.
"Wednesday Wannbe's" remember last season the owls were struggling against relegation at one point, they changed their manager early enough to stay up... look at them now.... We got Wilson in too late last term, I just hope we keep hold and allow the building process. If we give him the push I think we will have a disaster.
" Now it turns out we didn't want that at all " We did need it and much patience is required but people have a right to expect a better standard of performance when they pay good money to follow their team the length and breadth of the country. We need some positivity next week against Swindon otherwise the trip to Rochdale could be an extremely uncomfortable.
You may be proved right in the long run. Hope to god you are. And I'm still in the Wilson camp. But in this moment, after 40 games, Wilson's stats are poor. And 40 games are enough to make an assessment, IMO. That's not panic, it's just saying it as I see it.
40 games is more than enough. How many players either signed or on loan has Wilson brought in in his second term with us? I've lost count. Can always make excuses for things going wrong. Last season it wasn't his players, this season they need to gel etc. People aren't moaning because we aren't top. More because we are currently one point off the drop, can't get back to back league wins and all this without playing the likes of Bristol and Posh yet.
Still early days mate. There will be more bumps in the road yet. Hopefully we'll be discussing a good performance and three points, this time next week
have to disagree with you here a little DB3K. I think its a bit unfair to lump in last seasons events right now. Mr Wilson/the Board have had a massive clear out and we have begun an attempt to rebuild. So far this season we have played 10 competitive games. we have won 3, drawn 3, lost 4 and we have scored 15 goals and conceded 15 goals. It seems to me the main problem is again the defence, that seems to be the case for a good many years now. I begin to wonder if there is something in the water at Oakwell that our defenders have an allergy to.
