We beat Huddersfield playing 352. Apart from a spell in the second half where our trio of triers (cheers, Redstar) ran out of gas, we were the Flicker BFC we know and love. Two up top working in tandem, wing backs pushing on to great effect, and an M'Voto mistake aside, defensively solid. Flicker seemed pleased afterwards, and agreed with the above remarks, as well as praising RNL in particular. So why the ******* changes since? . We lost Pedersen, fair enough. But just stick another striker in. We are employing them aren't we? He says these 21's games are pointless. So why sign Cofie if that's all he's good for? Replace Ped with either Daggers, Jason Jason, Rose or Cofie. Simple, surely? . Ok, Ramage was brought in. So then move RWB Wiseman to err, RWB, and drop winger O'Brien. Thus putting Ramage central. . M'Voto made another error though. Well drop him for the returning Cranie - fit for the bench, fit for a start in my book. All seems simple to me. . But he likes to match up the opposition. Hudders played 352, that's why we did. My answer to that? **** the opposition. We never ever get anywhere worrying about the other team. Keith did it incessantly. I knew more about how amazing Coventry and Bristol City were than our own team. For fcuks sake. . But what happens? He drops RNL, again (our last two wins came when he started, in a 352, one, against a now Premier League team). Changes formation. Moves winger O'Brien into central midfield, gets central midfielder Dawson out wide, retains M'Voto and brings Jennings in from room 101. We lost. And ought to have been battered. . Was at work so won't comment too much on last night but it again from what I can gather looked a strange shape that did us few favours and the same old favourites were again selected. Steele nor Cywka would have started were it not for injuries. And we lost. Could have been by more from what I saw of the highlights. Did we even have a shot on target? Against Bournemouth. . This isn't a Flicker out thread. This is a "I hope whatever it is you are trying to do comes good soon Flicker" thread. Because I don't want yet another run of defeats prior to Wednesday turning up lïve on Sky, and us looking for another new manager hoping to again correct the mistakes made by his predecessor. And that is it, in simple terms - WE KNOW you can do it Flicker. I loved that 5 months. Dint always work, hell we got spanked once or twice, but we fought, we pressed but more than that we PLAYED. It's your job to lose. I don't want that to happen. YOU REDS.
We need to go back to basics , press opposition into making mistakes , no tip tapping , and looking to attack at all times . Hope we play Watford Saturday like we played against them last season at home
**** on Every successful team we have had, has seen the same players playing in the same formation, week in, week out. We aint good enough to chop and change every game, so pick a team, pick a formation and make it work. Continuity needed
true, we should be making opponent change their system to combat ours, not changing ours everyweek to suit an opponents
Good Post.Such a simple game at times this football lark. The worrying thing is if the fans can see it then why can't the Manager? Like you've stated Flicker has proved he can do it. We just need him to do it all again and quickly otherwise the pressure will crank up and we will be after a New Manager.Lets hope he re-evaluates our start to this campaign and learns by some of the tactical mistakes made in previous games. We all make mistakes Flicker is no different, but the secret in improving is learning by mistakes and not making the same mistake twice.I should know as I have done some silly things over my lifespan.
