Now the dust has settled from Saturdays Schooling,, Do you think the defence and midfielders will actually start tracking the oppositions runs. David Perkins was excellent at this last year, even earnt himself the nickname of "Dogshit" by us, he was everywhere. This season though its like schoolboy football, they constantly leave their man to go after the ball and leave gaping holes behind them. I know they review the goals after the weekend, it must start to highlight this weakness. Disagree if you like, but I see what I see
The title of your post sums up one of our main the problems in defence, Ade. Too many defenders ball watching, and not picking up the runners - eg Kennedy for Watford's second, and Ramage for Warford's third. HOWEVER, and I say this as a huge fan of Luke Steele, but why didn't he claim that looping cross when Kennedy left it and Watford scored their second goal???? It landed inside the 6 yard box for Christ's sake!!!!!!
It's been happening since the first game of the season, and its continuing to happen week in week out, and 4 times out of 5 we're getting away with it too, this is the reason i think the management team can't see the problem because they'd at least attempt to put it right if they could, 5 days on the training field should be ample time to assess and eradicate this problem, but ever time i turn up to watch them it seems they've ignored it again. and that for me shows they need a fresh pair of eyes watching our games and offering then advice just like we got when Mellon and Scott came in, it's time for these 3 to go seeking active advise from people they trust with in the game, failure to do this will result in them losing their jobs and the team going on a league one tour next season
