..spoilt -too much too young overpaid Prima-Donna, I cannot help but think he gets far less leeway than other players and like many other perceived 'bad boys' his reputation precedes him. When you look at the sending off against Liverpool and the 2nd booking - Yes, he should have been more careful being on 1 yellow and yes, did lead with the arm to some extent but his arm 'grazed' Skirtel's cheek but the latter then proceeded to writhe around on the floor in agony clutching his face and top of head. A LFC player then came charging in 'mock outrage' towards Balotelli which only made it worse for him and resulted in the sending off. No wonder Balotelli was bemused.
All this playacting is one of the reasons I only have a passing interest in Premiership and International football these days. IMO Skrtel should be up before the FA for brining the game into disrepute as should all these 'cheats'.

Just had chance to watch MOTD from saturday

And I feel Jonas Gutierrez was sent off in similar circumstances for Newcastle. The first booking was justified, very late. The 2nd, was ever so slightly mis-timed, a foul yes, but by no means dangerous, and for Nani (I think) to roll around like Jonas had chopped his leg off with a rusty axe, was disgracefull. This overreaction is what got Jonas sent off imo, who albeit got his man first, won the ball.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

Agreed. He was trying to fend off Skrtel. He was using the arm as leverage, no more. He certainly didn't go charging in with the full blown empi that the Liverpool players were accusing him of, and Skrtel should have got an Oscar for his perfomance as wounded victim number one. Abject disgrace. I f**king hate football.

Agree with you about the second booking

It was a foul because he sort of barged in to Skrtel, but it was no way a booking. He didn't elbow him, there was no malice in the challenge. The problems with football aren't what Balotelli did, it's people like Skrtel who writhe about on the ground when there's nothing wrong with them. If the football authorities had owt about them they'd rescind Balotelli's red card and ban Skrtel for being a complete lovely person.

Not to mention Pederson of Blackburn. Couple of seasons ago he was caught out on TV making an outrageous dive when his opponent was no-where near him and then last week with THAT corner when he must have known he was first to touch the ball when the referee blew for play to continue. Cheating tw*t!
