Did you ever see a fairly successful Barnsley band called Travis? (Not the recent porridge munching fourpiece led by Fran Healy)

A bit early for me I was late seventies and eighties although the first band I did see was UFO, unfortunately Schenker had just left.

More of a Punk/New Wave theme for me - Stranglers, Damned, SLF, Undertones, Ramones, Heartbreakers, 999, Tom Robinson, Siouxsie & Banshees, Ruts, Police, U2 etc.

    quite liked UFO

although their sets were always disapointingly short.

saw one or two punk bands, SLF, eddie & the hot rods, radio stars, but heavy metal was more my thing

    Hey Tina tyke ..

Do you remember the night we went to see Love Affair in the late 60s ! You drooling over Steve Ellis and me staying at yours ! .I would of course as a true friend not reveal any more on this board .

David Bowie - getting detention for queing all night in Notre Dame school uniform and climbing over the school wall ( god knows how ) to face the A level maths teacher .almost missing my physics A level exam .

I won't mention xxxxxxx Williams et al .

Nazareth at Barnsley Civic ! .

I am in danger of reliving my youth which only ended last week at Charlton .

    or did it start ?

Saw the Love Affair in Nottingham (they had twin drummers like the Glitter Band). Was also at both those early Nazareth gigs at the Civic. They were originally support band for (I think) Stackridge - who didn't turn up that first night.
