If I want to make an immediate payment into someone's bank account, and they're with a different bank to me, I'd need to pay cash into their bank right? Just checking cos only ever done a bank transfer into someone with the same bank as me. Ta.
You can still do a bank transfer cos ive done it before takes afew days, so cash is probably best option
i sold a car recently and the woman who bought it turned up with a building society cheque. i took her and the car to the building society and deposited it (cheque not her)!! that was treat as cash and i could have withdrawn it there and then if i wanted. dont know if this helps pal
The method of same day payment is CHAPS transfer - (CHAPS = Clearing House Automated Payment System) There is usually a fee for this service - funds are transferred same day even from one different bank to another
