Why can they sit together without causing too much trouble (I think?) while football fans in England are separated like animals? Is it some old tradition in England or a newer phenomenon? I can't think of any other sports where the fans are separated like that. I can see both pros and cons in that approach, but more cons I think...
i thought the England vs France match the other night would be unsegragated, i dont think any1 there on tuesday would have been looking for trouble, and it would have been a great show of unity
A couple of bars near where my relatives live have an ongoing tradition. One bar is barca the other is Madrid. Opposite sides of the road Whoever loses they close and then all pile over to the other bar and drink together. Can just imagine that in England.... No idea what they do if it's a draw like. Never asked
I'm glad we sit segregated. For that 90 minutes you want to beat the team. No need for bother obviously, but the idea of watching the match in a ground sat being nice to an opposition fan beside you isn't something i'd like. Pub before the match is alright though
Up until we won the World Cup in 1966, fans did sit together. After that tribalism suddenly came into the mindset of fans, and segregation started. I recall going to Millwall in 1961 and standing on their kop and chatting about the game with their fans, and after its conclusion with a Millwall defeat, I went to a pub nearby and never felt in any danger.
Same here. It adds to the atmosphere and banter. Imagine singing Your **** and you know you are And pointing in random directions because you can't work out the opposition fans.
Couldn't watch next weeks game listening em " what dar doin ref " and then break out into a song about boxing day . It's bad enough at work. Separation in games its the only way imo
