Best thread of the weekend, SD. All about this coming Saturday indeed & not a time for navel-gazing, so wanted to express my appreciation since I reckon you're bang on the money with this. Thanks.
This game is such a great opportunity for all concerned with the match day squad to promote some fast, incisive, attacking play that is relentless and has the opposition so concerned at keeping us out that they can't attack our defence; getting down the wings or through the centre running at players, crossing, shooting, scoring. A chance for no nonsense defending, quick, intelligent and forward throw-ins, threatening free kicks and corners, attacking the ball out of possession. This is the chance to win in style and set the standard for play offs. And then...I woke up from my dream.
That's why I haven't posted until tonight and my usual tongue in cheek ********. This felt different. Can't change past mate. Cheers.
What ?, ahh your being sarcy ?. Various posters have said this, that we all start on the same level when it comes to the Play offs. And if we as a team had done the business weeks ago, then it would never have been all down to this one game.
I reckon we'll round the season off the way we started, perfect symmetry with another 7-0 win. But I have been in the pub since 2pm.
yep, watched Coventry from 3-3 on and thought they showed exactly the pace and attitude I'd love to see from us - in every game.
Robins got it tactically wrong in the 1st half, but at least he had the nous to realise this, change the formation (and mindset) and made good substitutions.
It's a fair point. We've got a 4 game season now. Many of us thought we'd struggle to make the top 6 at the start, so we have to attack this as an opportunity rather than seeing it as failure from the position we were in. Have a go, and I'm sure the fans will be behind them.
Sorry, Acido. I'm an occasional poster & at the times I checked the bbs, it was full of dross compared to this thread (moaning about the manager, the players, the Board ...yawn, yawn, yawn).. I've just checked again & can only pick Jamdrop's "getting behind the team" as one I can associate with, but I just stop reading as soon as it's sullied by "Collins Out" campaigners. Whilst I respect everyone's point of view, it's natural to dial out when you're not reading anything new and it's a pile of negative energy I could do without. So I stand by my first reply & there's zero sarcasm in it at all. Seeing the 5-0 in the title just lifted my spirits & I'll be taking that with me into the weekend.
