    lets be fair

    Barnsley is ***** on a night...all there is to do is get pissed...

    ....no multiplex cinema, no decent restaurants, no cafe bars, no theatres, no live music venues....

    I walked through town last Friday night arond 7pm and all around were druggies and people absolutely rat arsed, Yes 7.30pm...

    It's true. The town needs some serious thought and investment.

    The people of Barnsley have to want it though. I'm not sure enough of us do.

    However, most of the people involved in that little skirmish weren't from the town anyway.

    I think it's probably more to do with

    ... the town as a venue for drinking, as with other towns, rather than a reflection on local people.

    personally love going round town, done it for 25 years, whuppidoo if theres occasionally a little bit of a to-do, its no different in any provincial town in this country. (or on a rugby pitch!!)
