of the goalscoring charts. Championship sides put into a league table based on how often it takes them to score. A goal every: Palace 46.2 mins Cardiff 47.4 mins -------------------- Watford 48.6 mins Leicester 51.4 mins Blackpool 51.4 mins Middlesbrough 52.9 mins -------------------- Millwall 54.5 mins Burnley 54.5 mins Leeds 60 mins Derby 60 mins Hull 62.1 mins Bristol City 62.1 mins Blackburn 64.3 mins Forest 64.3 mins Wolves 64.3 mins Bolton 64.3 mins Brighton 66.7 mins Charlton 69.2 mins Huddersfield 69.2 mins Birmingham 69.2 mins Wednesday 81.8 mins -------------------- Peterborough 85.7 mins Ipswich 94.7 mins Barnsley 94.7 mins Pretty abysmal scoring a goal every 94 minutes
Still... we must get that defense sorted out. I know its not the majority view on here, but I've thought for a while that its in attack where our problems lie. not saying the defense is great but less of a worry than the attack
For me its the lack of creativity in midfield and what seems like a game of keep ball, that Burnley game we finished with 7 shots and 4 of them on target at home to a Burnley side that was average. Hull away 4 shots not one on target. It aint entertainment thats for sure.
Can we swap with Ipswich as we've let in less and start with B? 7 goals in 12 the main reason and only Brum in league scored more than one
We are also the worst for the shots to goal ratio, l wondered if it was just the case of we weren't shooting enough. But no, we can't hit a barn door: Leeds United 5.4 (a goal every 5.4 shots) Crystal Palace 5.7 Leicester City 6.1 Bristol City 6.2 Cardiff City 6.6 Watford 6.8 Millwall 6.8 Derby County 7.1 Blackpool 7.2 Huddersfield 7.4 Wolves 7.4 Birmingham 7.5 Burnley 7.5 Middlesbrough 7.5 Nottm Forest 7.6 Charlton 8.1 Hull City 8.4 Blackburn 8.5 Brighton 9.3 Peterborough 9.3 Bolton 9.4 Sheffield Wed 9.7 Ipswich Town 11.1 Barnsley 11.5
% of shots on target Leicester City 59.4 Bolton 57.3 Leeds United 57.1 Derby County 56.6 Sheffield Wed 54.7 Crystal Palace 53.8 Charlton 53.6 Middlesbrough 53.3 Burnley 53.0 Peterborough 52.6 Cardiff City 52.4 Birmingham 52.1 Blackburn 51.5 Ipswich Town 51.0 Blackpool 50.8 Wolves 50.0 Millwall 49.1 Brighton 49.0 Barnsley 48.9 Watford 48.4 Hull City 46.1 Nottm Forest 46.0 Huddersfield 45.6 Bristol City 42.2
There's goals in these two up front, unfortunately just as they're beginning to form some sort of partnership they both probably won't be with us in January.
Agree, which is why Keith went and signed Tudgay & Buzascky hoping they'd score and create enough. Problem being the shape of the side has changed so we chased goals against Watford and got battered. Fine balance. Although O'Brien should be the first name on the team sheet with these two up top.
No one in midfield is prepared to make runs past the striker/s. In fairness to Done, despite his failings, he does often do this and got himself a few goals because of it last season.
Like I've said before, our defensive record stands up with most sides in the part of the league we'd aim to be in. Yeah we concede goals but you'd expect that - we're not as good a team as the majority in this league. The key difference is that almost every other side has scored more than us. Seems simple to me. When we've scored first we've won 4, lost 2 and drawn 1.
Our defending often leaves us with very limited opportunity to score the 1st goal. We need an organiser in that back 4, we are sadly lacking in that.
In the last 8 games we've scored 5 goals. We took 2 hidings in that time but the other 6 games we conceded 8 goals. A good record. Damn lies and all that.
