When its Christmas time, lots of cardboard packaging they decide they are not going to empty the green recycle bins for 8 weeks..please explain the logic?
probably because the green bin aint meant for cardboard, especially the printed on type, as this contains chemicals. The same goes for wallpaper, it contains chemicals in the paint, paste etc
It's the same council that started to "upgrade" my 1 bedroom bungalow 6 months ago & still haven't finished! If they'd been asked to build the Great Pyramid, they'd still be digging the foundations.
What gets me is that I leave my wheely bin outside my gate and when they have emptied it I have to retreave it from down the Road. They never leave it where they find it.
RE: Isn't "thin cardboard" allowed? I use my green bin for shredded paper and all cardboard packaging without any problems.
so do I the initial publicity was thin card and then they updated it to cardboard, it was in the Council's newspaper - i think
RE: so do I just quoting what i have been told, any cardboard that has been covered with any sort of laminate, ie glossy is not acceptable, and you are lible to a fine if you place this material in a green bin
