Why have we got so many fans, who are so quick to have ago at the manager???? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
What does it matter? We all support same team... If you took out every person who has a differing opinion to your own there would be no fans left
So why quote this post and not the other one ? Unless it is just posters with a different opinion to yours you only quote ?
Just pointing out some think we have doom gloomers and some think we have too many LJ happy clappers. I personally am in the second category and think he has a lot to prove after a lot of mistakes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
People need to realise he his a young manager with a young squad. And shouldn't judge him after a month into his first full season.
It's not just Barnsley fans, all clubs have fans who moan, happy clappers, idiots and many other types of fans. Listening to radio Sheffield recently you'd be forgiven for thinking that Rotherham are bottom of the conference north and that the blunts had just won the European cup. It can and will all change in a few weeks.
Im judging his overall performance since arriving. I think his dull tactics cost us a realistic shot at making the play offs last year, his recruitment (or that of this committee) has been unorganised in the way we signed so many central midfielders and disregarded more pressing positions until very very late and the one thing that truely got on my nerves was the team selection over the last week, full strength teams in the cup but key players rested for the more important, league game. Im not saying I want him under pressure as of yet but he should be a long way from the messiah some people are making him out to be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Them poor tactics which took us from 4th bottom when he took over to having a chance of playoffs??? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
The young squad bit is nonsense because he's signed 6 young loanees, we can't give them time because they'll be back at their parent clubs before we see anything close to the best of them. If they were our own players then I'd agree
The reason I have less patience with Johnson than previous managers is that he's going for a short term fix to get us back into the championship by signing 6 loanees & its **** or bust. If it fails then we've to completely rebuild again next summer. If it works we've still to completely rebuild but at least we'll be a division higher. If they were our own players & there was a long term strategy in place then I'd give him plenty of time. Unbalanced squad, lack of experience in his signings, boring football in the home games (the games that the majority see) are other reasons
I think the whole notion of calling anyone who doesn't slate the manager, the club, the board, the executive, the players, the club cat a 'happy clapper' is a pathetic joke entirely lacking any humour. It's been played to death now and maybe the people who use that expression should show a tiny bit more respect for others who may have a contrary view to their own. Some people are naturally pessimistic and some naturally optimistic, some are emotionally reactive, some prefer reflection. We should welcome all views and for sure argue our points, but based on something other than some herding instincts. I am a Barnsley fan like everyone else on here and love the constructive discussion, debate and humour as well as the information people bring to the table. Squabbling and patronisation however, seems a bit playground to me .
Cost us a reslistic chance of play offs? When Wilson was sacked we played Crawley got hammered 5-1 n I genuinely thought we were going to be in a relegation fight. Burton n heck did well and so did Lee Jay but we finished about where I expected I was glad we didn't get into play offs. Wouldn't have had a cat in hells chance of winning em. And resting key players do you mean scowern and winnall I don't think he wanted or expected the cup game to go 120 min what's point in fielding unfit players? And if he fielded a under strength team to play everton and we had all payed 20 a ticket and got hammered on sky you would have moaned about that so he can't win really.
We Have a broad mixture of Happy Clappers, Moaners and Realists on this Forum. We can all throw our opinions into the mix but ultimately it all Boils down to Results, Standard of Performances, and signs that Progress is taking place. A lack of all 3 of the above on a prolonged basis will trigger a change of Manager. Lee Jay will be no different to any Manager before him. Lets hope he succeeds because we aint half had some shi@te to put up with in the last few years.
I would expect to see him here for a while as Patrick said last week he will be the last manager he appoints. Unless they both go in that case I would start to worry. We're a month into season ffs.
