after about a week without one of these history quizzes they're back. Two easy and two difficult one's for you tonight:

    Easy - Recent history

    1. Which company were the only group to remain Barnsley's principle (shirt) sponsor for just one season?

    2. When Barnsley were promoted from the fourth division in 1979 who was the manager, and who replaced him shortly after this victory?

It will just be race to see who gets those two I think

    Hard - ancient history

    3. In 1898, Division Two was enlarged. Which two clubs, other than Barnsley, joined at this time?

    4. In their first league season, Barnsley progressed to the fifth qualifying round of the FA Cup. On their way, they were victorious in the nearest away game in the club's history, which team did they play in this fixture?

One more question available today once you get these

    extra questions

    :D

seeing as those were decimated in double quick time here's a couple more:

    Recent (ish)

    1. Which chairman was in office for the shortest period of time?

    Less recent

    2. In which two colour combinations did the club play until adopting red and white kits in 1898?

    Correct

and it doesn't seem as though anyone is going to get the other colour, the first kit worn by Barnsley St. Peter's - it was maroon and navy blue.

still no guesses about the chairman who spent the least time in the job?

have checked my answer in official history book and I know it's correct - sorry you'll have to try again.

Clue: his entire time in office came within the year 1966
