So proud parents just found out our son Paul who is a Flight sergeant and as been in the RAF over 20 years is carrying the Barnsley flag on the pitch at Wembley .It will be a great day for him and a special day for us sorry just had to tell every body
I told him to shout " Is this anybody's" then stuff it in his bag be so good to see him in his uniform
Don't apologise - that's fantastic!! I'll be proud as 'owt anyway, just watching tarn walk out, but if either of my lads were carrying the flag, I think I'd burst!
Brilliant. I have read that post several times over, and each time I get a lump in my throat. Heaven knows what it's doing to you! You must be so proud. Looking forward to seeing it.
Yes fantastic news. I just hope the Sky commentators get it right and don't do the usual trick of referring to all servicemen as "soldiers", as in and here is a proud Barnsley soldier leading the team out. As an ex-RAF man myself it always irritated me when we used to see servicemen on the TV news regularly in the Gulf, or Afghanistan, clearly wearing the RAF badge on their RAF blue berets, but referred to as "troops" or "soldiers". They are airmen. Different breed altogether Hope you all have a great day. Hey, hope WE all have a great day, and come back with some silverware.
Yes, good stuff this - excellent. But question for you.........why should any parent have to say 'sorry' for the achievements of their kids? Is this just a British thing where we have to feel guilt every time we achieve something good? I say........lets start shouting from the roof tops !!!
