The thread on Mick McCarthey got me thinking....

Lets say the club had an official Hall of Fame, with the fans and former players voting in, lets say 5 players every few years. Who do we think would be the first names in?

Also, would anyone be interested in starting a BBS Hall of Fame? Obviously it wouldnt be anything official, but ever year we could do a vote for an ex player/someone associated with the club to "go in" and have a little thread dedicated to them? I'd be happy to count the votes etc...

    Just a thought...

    1. Rev. Preedy, 2. Norman Rimmington, 3. Tommy Taylor, 4. Barry Murphy, 5. Eric Winstanley.
My next five entrants would be:-
    1. Danny Blanchflower, 2. Ronnie Glavin, 3. Harry Tuffnell, 4. Johnny Steele, Mick McCarthy.,

Agree with Macca, Glav and Redders. Add Eric Winstanley and Duncan Sharp.

Thats a good list. I think it shows how hard it would be to actually get into any Hall of Fame we had. I mean, It would be hard to argue with your names, and there isn't even the likes of Neil Redfearn and Danny Wilson there. And then there is people like Patrick Cryne to consider...

As well as those mentioned, you'd also have to consider the likes of the 1912 manager Arthur Fairclough, our most capped player Gerry Taggart, our all time record goalscorer Ernest Hine.

It should probably be split into two categories; Playing and non-playing staff.

Probably a good idea. I think if were to become a properly organised, yearly thing, we would have to specify(for example) x3 players, and either x1 non player(manager/coach/owner) and x1 celebrity fan(think Dickie Bird) or x2 non players...

    My 5 would be:

    1) Arjan De Zeeuw
    2) Bruce Dyer
    3) Istvan Ferenczi
    4) Jason Scotland
    5) George Williams

As they are my 5 favourite Barnsley players since I was born. Not necessarily the best, but I loved these guys. Angus MacDonald is on course to be the next inductee.
