Barnsley has been quiet last week or so

Transfer rumours have died down last week or so. I have been away for a week has there been any transfer rumours or any trialists been playing for us anyone know??

 

Flitcroft has said he wants to add another striker and then he will be happy to go with the squad barring any injuries or transfer bids for our players - there could be something in the Mellis rumours, I'd rather keep him as he does offer a lot in an attacking sense but if we can get a decent fee this could open up the door to strikers who are out of our reach at the moment.

 

Why who's been interested in mellis?

 

Palace, picking up some steam by all accounts, too.

 

Agree..someone like Jamie Vardy, who never seems to be first choice a Leicester..and who some of the Barnsley staff will know very well..

 

Palace mentioned originally, also Blackburn.

 

Not sure about Vardy, doesn't have a good record in the Championship for scoring - it's a clinical finisher we need to play alongside O'Grady. I don't like writing Dagnall off but he's only really had that couple of week spell of scoring regularly, before and after he didn't do much.

 

Jamie Vardy is one that has occurred to me given he scored his goals under Mellon at Fleetwood. I still reckon we havent given up on Clayton Donaldson, he seems to have scored a lot of goals in League 1 so will be one Flicker knows about. Andy Johnson would be a massive coup and a real marquee signing, but least likely I'd imagine given wages he's on at QPR. Im hopeful that things are happening behind the scenes, but I wouldnt be surprised to see us waiting until the end of August when the Prem teams announce their squads and picking up someone on loan, unless we pick up an injury in pre season.

 

I'm sure this subject will be discussed at length at the evening with Flitcroft next Monday, be good if someone could smuggle a video camera in as I suspect these types of evenings are a bit more candid compared to when the Player cameras are there.

 

Dunno where the Johnson rumour came from flickers said he had no idea and since then Johnson has said he wants to fight for a place in the club, and I'm not sure on vardy I'd like to see Watkins get some from Man U or west ham if he's helping them out at minute.
