Thats right Millwall away on the 27th Aug 2011 was the last time we kept a clean sheet away from Oakwell.

To give us any chance away from home we need to improve our defensive record.

Defence is shot when they come under the hammer.

I would rather us go out and attack away from home instead of sitting back waiting for the inevitable to happen. The ammount of money we spend travelling the length of the country week in week out to watch us get pummelled every time is becoming tiresome, i never expected anything last night to be honest but i would rather we went down 6-3 and having a good go than the usual tactics we seem to employ.

No we haven't - and yes we do.

    End of discussion.

One defeat and the stats are coming out?

Dear me. No we haven't kept an away clean sheet but in this division anybody can beat anyone, it's not gonna be that often a side doesn't score at home.

Can we keep the doom mongering to a minimum til we've played ten games?

Are we seriously going to be a terrible side if we happen to lose at Brighton and then Swansea too?

We are going to lose more away games than we win. But we'll win some - and pick up points with a few draws.

I agree. Instead we should look at the all time Barnsley record of Stephen Foster over many years and wonder why he's such an integral part of the defense still when our for and against record during his time with us must be at least minus 200.

Lets at least see how are are doing with a new look defence (Cranie, Stones). There cant be many people who thought we were going to get a result against Wolves

Yet 3 different managers have each given him a contract.

I`d get a petition up Dreamy if I were you.

Just got a feeling we're going to win at Brighton.

We mightn't keep a clean sheet, though.

Because goals conceded are entirely due to one centre half?

We could have had vidic at centre half from January but we'd have still lost because he'd have been playing behind total dross.

You can't agree with my point because I won't make judgement on the team, or anyone in it, until we've played ten, maybe twelve, games. That's the only fair thing to do.

I'm not saying I think foster is particularly great - but I think his record would be markedly better behind a better side. And as I say, whether or not this is a better side needs time to judge.

Don't get me wrong he's been an alright servant for us. But he's been the one constant at the back now for the many seasons our defense has been heavily in the minus. We've had him play with a number of different keeper, under a few different managers and with many defensive partners yet he still remains as part of our negative defense. If everyone was fit my back four would be Golbourne, Mcnulty, Crainie and Stones. Or could play Hassell in there somewhere.

Mcnulty should play just in front of the back four, played well there a couple times last season.

King Keef sez he`s alreight so its comply or die.

He`ll get all the crap thrown at him again but he is just as culpable as the other players that make up the defence.

So you're saying we were conceding goals before Butterfield, Vaz Te and Drinkwater left and with McNulty AND Perkins in the team.

    I'm not having that.

When Bobby Hassell came off last night Hillflicker din't even look at him. Whereas they gave a "hand-tap" to Harewood. Quite obvious they don't like Hassell in spite of his dedication and goalkeeping heroics for the team @ Rochdale. Just think they want to clear out any remains from the previous regime, and there's only Foster and yes Luke Steele(he of Premiership ambitions!!) and Sir Bobby left really. Once they've gone it'll be Keef's teeeeam

As far back as I can remember (to about 1983) we've always been poor away from home. Even when we got promoted to the prem we had negative goal difference on our travels and only won 8 out of 23.

5 away wins has been the norm I'd say so to lose at Wolves, who've hardly lost any of their squad from the Prem last year, with one of our fullbacks covering at centre half, a goalkeeper who's been here just over a week and a very bright prospect out injured.

Hardly time to worry. And as others have said. 3 points out of 6 having played Boro and Wolves... thats really not bad at all.

Whats also pretty good is that Palace and Peterboro and havent recorded any points yet. Really think Palace will go down this year. Perhaps also an indication of the division that only Blackpool have a 100% record after just 2 games (with hull to play blackburn)

    We only lost five though.

We've lost 15 out of 24 under Pep. Scored 19 and conceded 40. Not great by any stretch of the imagination.

And in our most successful season in our history we scored 33 and conceded 36. So the difference was in the goals for column.

Let's get 10-15 games in, get some of the injuries back and see what happens eh?

I don't think the OP is being too negative he's stating an interesting fact. One Keef will probably use in one of his up and coming interviews.
