Really good hospital and prompt with appointments too. It's great that the nation knows how good they are too through Casualty 24/7 on Channel 5. If the ratings were poor they wouldn't be on to their third season and whilst I think the first two were around 8 episodes each, this one is down for 20 so they have an extended season. In other great news they have record a Covid death free day :)

Makes a change for recoveries to be announced, The rest of the media seem obscessed only with new cases and deaths. Its time re-assuring news like this was released to help give the public some hope.

Massive thanks to all our local NHS staff and carers. Some of whom I know personally and lot more I have seen over the years in hospital. Whenever we have a appointment with the kids we always are met with brilliant staff. I don't have enough praise for them.
Great to hear some good news, thanks for posting this.

You could ask the government why they stopped reporting recovery rates. Officially, only 640 have recovered in the UK compared to 9000 in Ireland and 99000 in Germany.

I cannot believe it's that low somehow.

Purely guessing but surely that’s the intensive care no’s. Those having been on ventilators etc . Sure I read somewhere that if people get to that stage. It’s a slightly greater than 50/50 chance of pulling through.
Would love to be proved wrong otherwise a very frightening statistic.

Our overall recording of all figures has been abysmal. None of the numbers we get daily can be relied on as accurate, there’s always a lag or delay to take into consideration. Guess it’s down to lack of people/resource once again.
That’s a dig at government btw, not the NHS who are performing magnificently against the odds.

does look odd that - if Barnsley are saying they have 100nr recovered that means around 16% of all UK recoveries are in Barnsley hospital - out of approximately 180 hospitals (I've only included hospitals with emergency depts in the UK as these are likely main acute hospitals where patients are sent to). Cant be right - surely.

Its because we do not test like others do.

Even if you have been in a bad way with it I'm led to believe you aren't tested officially to see if you are clear of it, you are just tested in other ways to make sure you no longer need hospital treatment.

There’s no official national statistics for recoveries, Donny had its 100th recovery reported earlier in the week too.
Difficult to believe that half of South Yorkshire have 30% of all UK recoveries. :)
