Jacko backs Terriers rise

    22/02/06

Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson is confident his players can hold their nerve and secure promotion to the Championship this season.

The Terriers are well placed in League One in third position and level on points with Colchester in the second automatic promotion spot and only four points off league leaders Southend.

Despite the close attentions of teams such as Brentford and Swansea just beneath them, Jackson feels it is all in his own players' hands if they want to get out of the division come May.

"We've always had that self-belief. I know and the players know they are well capable of doing it," he said.

"But it's still so tight at the top and there are some teams with games in hand.

"But we just have to worry about ourselves and keep picking up the points. There's still plenty of games left and it's only now when it starts to get really serious."

It's better the sneek up behind them and strike whilst they least expect it.
