It was toss of a coin between Glav and Redders for me. I went for Redders.

I thought that, i had to look twice to make sure i had read it right. Howard cannot be put on a list along with the likes of Glavin and Redfearn in terms of greatness in a Barnsley shirt. I cant see him getting many votes.

    That's funny..

Seem to remember a lot of people on here saying Howard was a legend for us, and comparing him to the likes of Redfearn and Glavin, when he was still a Barnsley player.

I don't think so. Only one option from that list and its Glavin but i suspect Tommy Taylor will get it

even so he should'nt be on it you can't just look at an era and is theres no one suitable dilute the term legend and as decent as he was Howard was no where near good enough to deserve the tag

Tommy Taylor - When's the statue coming?

Should have been before Dickie Birds, Duncan Edwards has a statue and a street named after him but Tommy gets a little sign on the back of the Ponty. He should be honoured a lot more by the town.

I couldn't agree more. Possibly the biggest talent to be produced by this town and was tragically killed while in the big time. He's not given as much credit as he deserves.

    I've gone for Redders

tbh i think Howard is on that list because he achieved so much while he was at the club. He helped gain promotion back to the Championship and captained a side who had there best cup run in 96 years, and grabbed the headlines for scoring the winner at Liverpool, whether he deserves to be dubbed a legend is another matter. But don't get me wrong, i don't think he should be compared to the likes of Redders, who is a true Barnsley legend.

    Eng 19 games 16 goals - Man U 166 games 112 goals - Tykes 44 games 26 goals

What a striker, doesn't he have the best strike ratio for an England striker? even though he only played 19 times and possibly Man U? Had he not been killed l reckon he would have been one of the greatest players in a Man Utd shirt, look at the Legend Bobby Charlton has become yet he wasn't the best player in that side.

    what about Fola Onibuje?

about as much right to be on there as Howard anyway

o.k. Howard was better than Fola but an all time great? no chance - you are correct very few players to be grouped with that bunch since Hignett
