Anyone from here going? Weather forecast looking great going into the weekend… Over 200 bands playing this year across the town, looking forward to it personally.
Brilliant day for town, last year didn’t go due to going to Glastonbury but if town be packed and boosting the economy is a bad thing and a victim of it’s own success, long may it continue. Year before queued about an hour to get into Stone Roses bar to see Arctic Numpties was brilliant when we got in.
This is what’s putting me off. A few of my pals are going but can’t be bothered to stand in a queue to get in a pub then be 5 deep at bar. Too old for that nonsense!!
Was saying to a few mates last weekend, it'd be brilliant if Oakwell could host some sort of main stage. It has the space for it, and takes some pressure off the venues in the town who are literally having to turn people away.
Where ever you play I can guarantee it will be full, last year we ended up going in bars with no one on and they were still packed
My main issue is not with the event itself or the organisers, indeed, that and it’s predecessor’ Live in Barnsley’ are absolutely brilliant days. The problem is those who attend who are not in the slightest bit interested in the bands and/ or the music. They turn out just because there’s something ‘going on int Tarn’ Another criticism is that some of the venues serve very limited and poor quality drinks. Hopefully, I’ll be there on Saturday trying not to comment on the things said like ‘ who the fek are this lot, and ‘what ***** are they playing now’ or the popular, ‘ I don’t know this , why don’t they play summert we all know’ Grr
Best day in town for both music and a beer or 2. Will be out for the duration. It should help considerably with good weather as people stand outside as well instead of blocking up the bar. We select the slightly lower key places, who tend to have singer / songwriters rather than the big bands. Will be planning out our schedule. Fantastic for the town as someone said about a main stage at Oakwell. Probababy a bit too far out of town, but with the new town square, although they have a small stage as they did last year, that could be ramped up considerably IMO.
