Never been before. Thought I’d give it a whirl. Any recommended bands to look out for? What are the best venues?

I would recommend downloading the App, it’s an amazing day you can see bands/singers with times and the genre on the app.

Usually a great day but the move from the summer might affect it

Considering the amount of cash they're going to make today, you'd think all the pub managers would have chipped in for an ad in the Chron - tight barstewards.

Some really decent venues tbf Stone Roses bar, smaller venues like Pour House for something more intimate and acoustic.
We have a few bands we are going to see but we really like BESAR who are on at Evoo if you like Bluesy folk rock.
I think the prof is playing too Wilde Sammon.

It will. In June it's that busy roads get blocked by drinkers spilling on to the streets especially down by where Walkabout used to be. Having it in the cold months will put a lot off.

Are the bars themed for particular style of music?
    Who actually organises the event?
I’ve downloaded the ap, but I’m none the wiser in terms of where to go. It’s been a long time since i was out in Barnsley.
I’m not into heavy metal or jazz, but after that anything goes. Pop, country, folk, rock, indie.

Hicksy used to be involved, don't know if he is this time?
If BA Funk are on I reccommend seeing these.Mark Jackson's CWOT too but I think someone on here said they'd split up.

Late Night Legacy are on in White Bear at 3.00. Great band, from Leeds. Great lads too. Bit of a Chiili Peppers/Funk rock style. They’ve been on since it used to be the original Live In Barnsley. They have a couple of tunes on Amazon so Alexa will play them. Also on Facebook, you tube etc. Lead singer Ryan bit of eye candy for the ladies.

To be honest I’d just meander until you find somewhere comfortable with music that you like, Garrison is a good music venue, the majority of pubs have something on even the market kitchen which is amazing for street food.
