What was all that about today???
Again, as Richie says, the effort was there but for me they played like they had never seen each other before
    Don't blame Conlon
The tactics today must have been to hit Conlon with high balls for him to flick on to Hayes
Conlon did not recieve ONE good cross all the match
Shukers crosses for example were terrible
The best player on the pitch was there No. 12, the tall black guy with long hair
It were a shocker today - we started great. In the first 15 minutes the TARN were all over them and then the players just drifted away.
We are desperate for an old head at central defence and maybe another in midfield to keep the momentum going
I thing they are motivated when they come out of the tunnel but lose that motivation after a while and there isn't anybody on the pitch to keep it going
Another problem is that there aint a cutting edge to the side. We haven't got one player that makes you stand up when they recieve the ball near the oppositions penalty area.
Can we live through this for another 9 months

    Just one point on that...

I agree that any crosses that went into the area were poor, but it hardly helps when we have no-one in the area does it?! Conlon didn't receive a good cross, but that was as much to do with the fact that he's never in the box .

    Reasonable assessment young nudger

Midfield were shocking with possible exception of Burns (my MOM) who worked hard and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet.

We struggled defensively against a poor attack in fact BBB made more than a few defensive clearances while carbon et al looked on.

Reid looked comfortable enough but I'm sure he does not want to play as a CH.

We totally lack a defensive leader and the defence has no confidence in the inept Colgan.

BBB did not do too badly in the role he was asked to play but again he was static and lacks pace (if he had it he would not be at Oakwell)

Hayes worked hard but I see no spark in his play to get anyone excited.

Midfield needs to knuckle down and get some goals. A pacy player to beat defenders is another thing that we lack. Will Howard or Kell fill this role only time will tell.

Many more performances of this ilk will see us firmly esconced in mid table with no hope.

Still 3 points and played badly...better that an outstanding performance and no points??

Conlon tried his best today............was Hayes playing?

Conlon put far more effort in today than Hayes, both in attack and defence
Target men today do not play in the same position they did 10 or more years ago
They seem to play between midfield and the loan striker/s to recieve the ball and spread it wide or flick it on e.g. Emile Heskey
Myself, I would like to see the big lad leading the line
