How many of those players would you have in our starting 11?

I’d say 4 maybe, at most? Ihiekwe would get in our back 3, just I think. Bannan. Windass and Smith up front for sure, but other than that I wouldn’t have the rest. We have better players who’re more comfortable with tue ball.

If they do go up (and they will be another year older )how many of those could hack it in the Championship

It's whether that experience comes into play or not. Hoping they're knackered from their Hurculean efforts on Thursday and we press and run them ragged at Wembley!

Bannan and Windass definitely. Not sure about Smith.

I'd love to have Palmer and Flint as part of the squad though, even if they weren't regular starters. Excellent players whose knowhow would be invaluable.

To be fair you're having a pop at a team that went unbeaten for more than half a season. Finished with a points total that on any other season seen them promoted as champions already.. And finished with 11points more than us
I'd leave aside any disrespect till at least next Monday tea time. It may come back to bite you..
Just playing devils advocate. But I often find on here the .. we'll pi55 this game brigade ..actually moan most in defeat when reality turns out to be different from their imagination, how dare it.

    A fully fit Windass.

Apart from that I wouldn’t have any of those players, not even Bannan. No resale value at all, & all on obscene wages no doubt.

Who’s having a pop? I think the point been made is ,in the 49th game of the season can a bunch of thirty odd year olds compete with a team of young fit players.

Can't believe Smith is only 31. Seems like the late 80s that he was with us.

Don't blame him. If I was a Football player there is no way I would ever live in the place I play.

There's at least one Lincoln City player living in the same complex we're currently in. Lincoln is absolutely beautiful, and if you've ever been to Lincolnshire, you'll know full well there's very few other places round here anyone in their right mind would want to live in!

I went to Sincil Bank this season and it's a lovely city. Even the Ritz Wetherspoons was upmarket for 'Spoons'. It's nothing against the area of the club you'd be playing for. It's more being pestered all the time as you're always recognised. If the team is doing well a 20 minute trip to the shop takes 2 hours. If you're doing rubbish you'll get shouted at all the time asking why the team are useless. More people knowing where you live. Having to tell people you've not time to chat, which some would take as you being horrible to the fans that pay your wages.

It would just be easier living slightly out of the region like when George Moncur lived at Cumberworth.

Tb f I don't think Barnsley fans do have that mentality. We're too used to being the underdogs. We rarely get the respect our efforts merit. If you really want to see a we'll piss the game attitude head over to Porktalk !

In League One terms Wednesday are a very good team. The fact that they have several players over 30 can be overstated as their win on Thursday showed. They're experienced and some of them are skilful, intelligent players. They'll be hard to beat.

No they didn't the Peterborough players thought they'd got the game won and tried to coast through it and weren't good enough to be able to do that. For all the noise around the game about how good Wednesday were the fact is they were allowed to be that good because the Peterboro team let them, I'm sure our players will be up in the faces of the Wednesday players from the first kick and won't let them walk all over them like Peterborough did.

Can go two ways. Their extra experience can give them an advantage in a big way, or they lack energy towards the end of the game.

For the latter to count, we need our subs to step up.
