    Cheers mate

Football used to be a piece of piss. You got in trouble in midfield and you could just hoof it back yo your 'keeper and he could pick it up!

    ah, memories!

    Excellent!

I've never seen any of that footage. Despite the fact that half of Barnsley went to the game, including a couple of lads in my class who never even used to go to Oakwell, and that I was known for being the big Barnsley fan in my class at school, we didn't go. Partly financial reasons, but also because it was a school night!

At home time, my English teacher asked me if I wanted us to win and I said no, I wanted a draw, so that I could go to the replay. So I was more pleased with the result than Luton were when they played them last week.

Within two minutes of the kick off, I thought I couldn't have been happier - we were 1-0 up, the most horrible scouser ever had been stretchered off with a broken leg (after slagging off both Barnsley and the goalscorer/provider of the broken leg/ex-dustman in the paper that morning), and I had Graeme Souness' autograph in my book (and Terry Cooper's, who was stood chatting to Souness!). If only the full time whistle had gone then...

3 special trains and 200 coaches went over the Pennines that evening, not to mention all those in cars and so on. The years have flown by since then

About as clear as it was on the night

Wonderful. Even if we spent the first half on the M62 in the fog

    Your right there...

But not the foggyest I've seen (or not seen) Barnsley play. At York in the 78-9 season you could only just see over the half way line. All you could hear was the ooo's and arh's of the home fans as they attacked our goal, then the ground fell silent and out of the mist came shapes, at first just shadows but as then as they got closer you could make the sides out. A speedy attack down the wing saw the ball centred and Derek Bell smacked the ball home. 0 to 10 on the crowd volume in 5 seconds.

Barnsley v Liverpool Footage Part Three

    Third and final part.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWDR4d0okIo

I'm a big believer that footage like this should be out there for the masses rather than being locked away, managers and players come and go but we the fans are the ever present constant. Sometimes happy, sometimes angry, usually moaning, Barnsley fans don't have much history to cling to, but what we have should be available to all.

This is our history, it belongs to us all.

PS I'm always interested in any old footage thats out there concerning the Reds, if you have anything you'd like to share please PM me.

Not on a par with your Friday material though ...

Nice to see you before Christmas, just as I imagined you'd be.

    Fog...........

It was foggy at the Oakwell replay. We thought it would assist us as we climbed over the wall early doors as we had to hide amongst the overgrowth on the Spion Kop/ Brewery Stand corner. It wasn't too dense though and the police came around with their torches, causing dozens to flee in opposite directions. My lasting impression of that particular scenario was listening to the feet running along the wooden section of the stand with the cries of the police as they pursued their 'suspect'. Myself and my mate were fortunate to be taken in by a hot dog seller from Bolton who was just setting up his stall - the police came round at some point asking for his 'id' and enquired "are these two with you?", to which he replied "oh yes". From there, we managed to negotiate our way round to the our regular haunt, the North Terrace. Through the hole in the metal railings between the Ponty and South Terrace
