Will these matches be on Radio Sheffield? Will they be allowed to enter the ground to give interviews?
They will be as they have rights to both Sheffield teams' games and you cannot stop away sides' stations from commentating.
It was confirmed they would be the live amtches when a Radio S rep came on Football Heaven show last week
Its simple. SOmething Allen's failing to pick up on. Radio Sheffield is banned from Bradcasting at OAKWELL. Therefore unless it changes prior to next march Radio Sheffield WILL NOT broadcast Barnsley V blunts etc.
I'm afraid you're wrong mate Radio Sheffield are not allowed to commentate and cover things about BARNSLEY FC at the moment, but they cannot be stopped from coming to cover Wednesday and United. You cannot stop any station coming that has the rights to the away side's commentary.
Yes you can. They can refuse entry to the club. Its simple really. They will not as a patte rof principle allow Radio Sheffield to be allowed to commentate on those two games because BFc would look right divvy *****. ANyway, its about barnsley FC when its at Oakwell not Sheffiedl uts etc.
I have been reliably informed by someone at the club that they cannot stop Radio Sheffield coming to cover those games EVEN IF the situation stays as it is. What do you suggest? Get some big bouncers to throw them out?!
They can refuse entry to the land anyone they want except the services and those with chrons? disease ANd the broadcasting desk can always have a fault.
If the "problems" with Radio Sheff persist until we play Utd/Weds at home then if we let them in to commentate we will look utter pillocks.
letting them in would negate the stance we have taken.
If we dont cause them any grief for two of their biggest games then we have been wasting our time.

But Journo Tyke knows best. he works for Oakwell Fm. Only people in Hoyle Mill and Mars can tune into it!
way I see it Radio Sheffield have a contract with both Sheffield clubs to cover their away games. They do not have a contract with BFC to cover the home games.
This to me would seem to be mutally exclusive in that BFC should not need to allow RS access as there is no agreement between them but this would cause the Sheffield clubs to breech their contract with RS. Is there a Football league override to circumvent this stalemate ?

Firstly, it's AM not FM And secondly, do you think I'd be posting this if I didn't know it was a fact? The rule was explained to me by someone at BFC who knows what he's talking about re such things. Believe it or not, I couldn't care less.
RE: Firstly, it's AM not FM So whats the point of what we are doing then?
Have you asked the question , if this isnt gonna effect the coverage for the Barnsley v Sheffield clubs then what are we hoping to gain?

sorry Journo... ...not wishing to stir it , but which rule ? and who's rule as well ?
Actually I don't really care too much but I do think it is interesting.
Dave

As I see it... From a personal point of view... BFC aren't trying to 'gain' anything, they are simply making a stance as they obviously feel unjustly treated. We don't know the full facts of this of course. There's nothing (legal!) as far as I'm aware that any club can do to stop the away team's station from coming to cover a game. Any home team in this situation could of course refuse access to its players/manager etc. I'm only saying what I've been told... and just to clarify, my question was IF such a situation were not resolved, what would happen, rather than what WILL happen in this case. Who knows, it may get resolved, I've no idea how it stands at the moment.
