After 3 defeats last thing you want to do is throw a 2-0 win away. Football isn't played on paper. This will have knocked em' make no mistake. That was a Cardiff team that had lost their last 5.
3 defeats against Norwich who are top by 7 points Watford just come down And Swansea one of the best sides I've seen all season. I'm not worried about those I don't think we will end up in a relegation scrap. 2nd half wasn't good collins isn't as good as walton in goal and sibbock is no sol. But cardiff were a dirty side trying to bully our young lads. Mick mcarthy wanted to play his trademark ugly football hence why he left wilson out. We move on nothing to fear in derby or forest.
You’d hope so, but if the next two games don’t go well then we’ll definitely be looking over our shoulder again. Not sure 50 points will be enough this year. Wednesday and Wycombe in danger of being cut adrift while everyone just above is showing improvements in form.
Really? None of the bottom seven are averaging enough points per game to get to 50 on current form. Some will improve, yes, though some above them will wilt, and it is very likely that at least three of the current bottom seven or eight won’t make it past 50 points in my view. We will fly past 50 points regardless though. Even in the three defeats we looked ok, we were very good against Norwich in the cup, and were arguably a competent ref away from three points tonight. I just don’t see how this side won’t pick up another 15 points - thats four wins and three draws or five wins, even three wins six draws would do. We have 20 games left. We won’t lose more than half of them, unless something drastic happens in the last bit of the window or we get six injuries. Even then I’d still fancy us to finish above Rotherham, Wednesday and Wycombe at the very least.
Don’t think we will but if we lose against Forest and Derby we’ll definitely be looking over our shoulder, especially with Rotherham flying at the moment. We need a win quickly to arrest the bad run and lift confidence.
They might not be averaging enough points per game at the moment, but Rotherham are in good form, Coventry unbeaten in 8 (also recently strengthened their midfield), Derby and Forest showing some signs of improvement under new managers. Add to this, the run in always provides a number of shocks with a team or teams down there showing form way above their league position, it was us and Luton last year, Wigan the year before. If Wycombe and/or Wednesday get cut adrift, then that means more points for the teams above, and it wouldn't take too much improvement to ppg average to get Rotherham, Derby and Forest over 50 points. We should be aiming for 6 more wins before the end of March, if we want a comfortable run in. It's possible, but a number of our wins in December could've gone either way so anything could happen, wouldn't want to predict.
