I'm hoping to go on air from 7PM, with some interviews and a couple of tunes - if all goes according to plan. If it does...enjoy the show, if not...apologies in advance! Professional as ever eh?
quick question does 1575 or any of you guys have a contract that says you will provide commentary for all games for barnsley world?
There's no written agreement or contract as far as I'm aware.... ....our station manager Andy Firth (TYKE001) might be able to elaborate more. Why do you ask?
I just wondered what would happen to barnsley world if you guys decided you couldn't be arsed for the rest of the season or if you had some kind of technical problem with the 1575 equipment or something.
We broadcast all the away games on Barnsley World via Premium TV. The only technical difficulties we have experienced when covering away games is the allocation of an ISDN line to connect to the internet. Sometimes you have to 'share' a line with another company and if they have a problem then it cuts us out too. Tonight Matt with have a dedicated line so that's going to be just fine. There is no question of us not being arsed to cover the rest of the season, or the forthcoming seasons. We have been covering BFC games for 11 years now, through rough times and good although this is our first season providing live commentary on away matches. If you, or anyone else for that matter, would like to see how it works on a match day then you are more than welcome to join us for the day. I hope some, or all, of that makes sense!
That did all make sense thanks, what I was asking was what would the club (or premium tv, whoever it is that is in charge) do if you decided for whatever reason that you wouldn't or couldn't provide commentary or barnsley world any more. I'm not saying that you would decide that, just wondering what would happen if the situation occured.
You'd have to contact the club themselves.... ....in order to try and find out whether or not they have a contingency plan.
I guess they would take the feed from the local bbc station. In the case of the Blackpool game, I guess BBC Radio Lancashire would be doing some sort of commentary.
not that I could find................... http://www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-perl/whatson/search/daylist.cgi?service_id=50484&DAY=Today
pretty poor really
