Colgan Austin Kay Reid Heckingbottom Shukur Burns Windass Devaney Nardiello Hayes You'd almost be playing a diamond formation but you'd actually have the players to play as oppose to when Paul Hart just refused to play anything else. Your spare keeper would be Flanders, defenders Carbon, Hassell, Tongue and Williams. Midfielders Kell, McPhail, Howard, Tongue, Williams. And up front you'd have Tommy Wright and Richards. Plus the fact that Kay and Reid can both play midfield if we were ever lacking numbers, and Williams left wing. Thats a pretty awesome squad for this division and no reason it shouldn't finish the season stronger than anyone and get into the top 2 with everybody fit.
That's putting a hell of a lot of responsibility on Burns With the way Shuker and Devaney play we already adopt a 4-2-4 formation at times. Windass would undoubtedly want to get forward. Our midfield would be overrun. And do we really want to spend six figures on a striker, who would most likely be the best goal scorer at the club, and then stick him in midfield?
