All this back slapping for Tommy Tyke, Rhys, Radders and Matt, where were they when I was running the bulletin board in 1995? I used to have to trim it like a winter bush back then every night. I would delete the oldest 100 threads, which was about 3 weeks worth of contributions but by 'eck they were good 'uns. We didn't have a fancy name neither, URLs were written in Hex machine code back then and only real men could use the Arpanet (as we called it). Anyone caught using "www" in their address had their throats slit. I didn't make a song and dance neither. E.I used to help out. A bit. But to be honest he was often more trouble than he was worth. Radders used to watch me and he learned a few things but then he got into women and silk shirts and that was that. And then, in 1998 when I moved to America up stepped the Corke Twins who took over. Not so much as a by your leave to old Airy, no farewell box of Maltesers, no nowt, forgotten. Then we got a new name, new logo, new URL, fancy this, fancy that. It makes me sick. And now you lot are all "ooooh Tommy this, Tommy that" Tommy would be nothing if it wasn't for me and my assistant EI. This BBS is here because of me and me alone. You really make me sick, the lot of you, you sycophants. Bring back "F0BA15G:COMPUSERVE.INIT. ACK.^&%BC.TARN"
You bitter sod. I remember it well, Airey. In the same way I remember ringworm, power cuts and Thatcher's icy grip. I think it's called evolution. Dunt forget, afore thee, all we had was the mailing list - do you stop to thank Jerry an' his mates for that? Think on, fella.
Do i sense some bitterness in your thread?ff Thanks Airey! Some of do remember who started the ball rolling!
Look at my face. Am I bothered?
You up north anytime soon? Be nice to remember what you look like!!

RE: Look at my face. House move imminent - could be as soon as next week, could be never. That's solicitor's for you. It means all weekend plans are on hold for now but I said to Dave recently, now that he's employed again, we should head up for a game soon. Will keep you posted.
