Watching the documentary on BBC2 "Whites v Blacks: How football changed a nation" got me thinking about BFCs best black player. Dyer or Vaz Te for me.
Jacob mellis or Ike Ugbo... Bruuuuuuce by a country mile. Didn’t he win player of the season three years in a row?
Was just going to start a thread on this. I can remember the monkey chants from fans and Winston Campbell having bananas thrown at him at bumhole lane. The colour of a players skin never enters your head these days, as there are so many black players both British and foreign. You'd have to be a special kind of idiot to be racist when every single team has black players.
Loved Winny Campbell, Calvin Plummer and Larry May back in the day. More recently, JCR, Dean Gorre, Bruce Dyer and Yiadom.
Well.. Left wing was my favourite playing position BITD.. . players such as Eder, Littbarski were my heroes as a kid so I'd have to say where BFC is concerned Winston Campbell was one of my favourite BFC players for numerous reasons... plus his introduction to the club cut out all those monkey noises from many of our fans towards opposing teams black players, like most clubs fans who took on black players back in the 80s (apart from the likes of Leeds and Chelsea etc)
